English Language Day

Happy English Language Day! English Language Dayis celebrated each year on April 23 – the date when tradition says William Shakespeare was born.

Many people consider English as the unofficial “worldlanguage” because it is so widely used. English is themain language of business and aviation. It is the mostwidely used language on the Internet and social media.

English Week (Shevchenko school in Mena)

Shevchenko school in Mena celebrated the English Week from 18 to 22 April 2016. The theme of the Week was: "English poetry. William Shakespeare". We marked the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death in 2016.

Special assemblies, the competition of poetry reciters, posters exhibitions, watching a film about English writers and of course games were planned and conducted during the week. Our English week was full of excitement and fun. We thank to all our students and teachers that prepared English week.
